Signage Fundraiser at Short's Brewing

We've worked tirelessly to improve the trail experience for all users since day one, and thanks to Short's Brewing Company, we've got an opportunity to make some much-needed changes to the trails!

As Glacial Hills grew, our trails twisted, dipped, rose, and weaved together like a spider web. The network of trails offered countless ways to put together your favorite run, hike, or mountain bike ride, keeping the experience fresh and new for everyone day in and day out. But we've also listened to plenty of feedback from mountain bikers that pointed out that the wayfinding at Glacial was tough to navigate at any kind of speed. We also found that our trail crew and regular riders had put together some really fun loops that we wanted to easily share with folks up for the day, who may not have the time to pioneer their own circuits.

We saw the signs, and as you might have noticed, we've spent the last few months testing a few signage changes that will help make navigating at Glacial Hills easier, even when you're clipping along on your race bike. We've put together a few loops and have dialed in our new signs on a small-scale, and now we're ready to expand the improved signs from every trailhead and onto nearly every intersection!

All new signs can be pricey, but luckily, our friends at Short's Brewing Company are coming to the rescue. On Sunday, October 21, Short's will donate all proceeds from the pub starting at 2 pm until close. That's right, just by enjoying a great meal and great beer, you'll be helping us raise the funds to complete our signage project!

To make it even more fun, we've organized a guided hike from Echkhardt at 2 pm with the famous Don Hirt. Pedaling more your style? Join Tim Reicha for a guided mountain bike ride at 2 pm from Orchard Hill! Both groups will enjoy 60-90 minutes on the trails before headed down to the pub for drinks, dinner, and great conversation about a fun day in the woods.

This is a great chance to bring a friend that's new to cycling or new to the area for a laid-back, fun way to explore Glacial Hills. Many area mountain bikers will be coming off a big race, Peak2Peak, the day before, and will be using Sunday's ride at Glacial as a chance to spin out the legs, unwind, and relax a bit after a tough day in the saddle. Consider bringing a beginner out to Glacial and buying them a beer for getting into the sport!

Can't make it October 21? You can always donate to the signage fundraiser and all-things Glacial here.

Stay up-to-date with the Short's Brewing Signage Fundraiser on Facebook and we'll see you in less than two weeks!
